The Epson EcoTank ET-2800 is a popular budget supertank printer known for low ink costs. The catch: it has no automatic duplexer. All double-sided printing is manual. But once you understand the paper reload sequence, it's actually quite simple, and we'll walk you through every step.
Understanding ET-2800 Paper Output
The ET-2800 ejects pages face-down into the output tray, this detail determines everything about your reload sequence. When pages finish printing, they stack with page 1 on top (face-down) and the last page at the bottom. Understanding this order is the key to getting double-sided printing right.
Manual Duplex on Windows (ET-2800)
Step 1. Print the odd pages
Open your print dialog (Ctrl+P). Find the Page Range option and select Odd pages only. Some Epson driver versions have a built-in 2-Sided Printing option, if yours does, select it and follow the reload prompts. Otherwise, proceed to print odd pages.
Step 2. Check the output stack
After odd pages finish printing, look at how they landed in the output tray. They're face-down, with page 1 on top. This order matters for the next step.
Step 3. Flip and reload
Pull out the entire stack and flip it 180° so the printed sides now face up. Page 1 should still be on top. Place the stack back in the rear feeder with printed side facing up, feed the top edge of the paper in first. This is the critical part. If you reverse the orientation, page 2 will print upside-down.
Step 4. Print even pages
Go back to the print dialog and change to Even pages only. Print. The printer now adds even pages to the back of each odd page in the correct sequence.

No. The ET-2800 does not include an automatic duplex unit. All double-sided printing requires manually reloading the paper between print passes. If automatic duplexing is important to you, consider the Epson EcoTank ET-4800 or ET-5850, which include auto-duplex.
This means you reloaded the paper with the wrong orientation. For the ET-2800 (face-down output), the stack needs to be flipped so the printed side faces up when reloaded. Try also rotating the stack 180° if the top/bottom orientation is wrong.
Yes, using DuplexReady's booklet mode combined with manual duplex printing. DuplexReady reorders the pages into booklet signatures, and you print them using the manual duplex method above. After printing, fold and staple the center.
